One Twisted Voice

ref=sib_dp_kd.jpg
A collection of sixteen short tales told by one twisted voice...

Matt Hilton is best known for his best-selling Joe Hunter thriller series, but he also enjoys writing across the different genres. He has selected stories ranging from crime, thriller, action and horror, with a liberal sprinkling of humour, and presents them here all in one neat bundle.

Please note: Joe Hunter does not appear in these stories. However, if it's action you're looking for you won't be disappointed, it might not be in the place you thought to look before.

ACTION: Pulse Pounding Tales Vol 1

Collected and Edited by Matt Hilton

EBOOK ONLY

"This book should not be purchased by asthmatics or heavy smokers as it leaves a fit person breathless with excitement." ***** Crimesquad.com

37 Action-packed Pulse Pounding Tales!

That’s exactly what you get in this collection of action stories from top thriller authors Stephen Leather, Matt Hilton, Zoë Sharp, Adrian Magson, Steven Savile and many more, including stories from exciting up-and-comers.

Think back to the days when heroes were heroes and the action was furious and full-blooded. When often as not, the hero was quite the opposite: an anti-hero - but he needed to be, to bring the kind of violent justice to villains worse than him. When political correctness took a back seat, even as the bullets and karate chops were flying. Basically it was good old harmless fun. It was a case of disengaging your moral compass and getting down with the hero as they took on all comers, and they did it with balletic grace and uncompromising violence. Gratuitous? Mostly. Realistic? Not always. Great fun? You betcha!!!
Then fast forward to the here and now: What if the current action and thriller authors set their minds to bringing back the action genres of old?
Well, that question is answered here.

Within these pages you will find secret agents, vigilantes (both just and insane), cops, villains, soldiers, veterans, gangsters, swordsmen, privateers, Ninja and even a crypto-zoological beast you might recognise. Some of the tales are delivered with shocking realism, some as lighter entertainment, some on the grittier side, but each and every tale included in Action: Pulse Pounding Tales Volume 1 is sure to get your heart racing.

Darkest Hour

EBOOK ONLY

Europe is in flames, and France is on the verge of falling, yet the worst terrors rampaging across the western world are not Hitler's Panzer divisions.

Hitler has his hands on the Spear of Destiny and has conjured up unearthly powers even he can not control. Now more terrifying creatures than the SS are stalking the war torn lands.

Through this hellish landscape travels Sergeant Geoff Renyard, in hope of saving all his lads while they race for the Channel during Britain's darkest hour.

But Renyard's section of riflemen aren't the only ones on a mission.

Across the battlefields strides Ludis Kristaps, a fallen pastor from the bitter north, now a father in search of vengeance for his murdered wife and unborn child, carrying with him a secret icon that may be the only weapon powerful enough to defeat the risen devil, Abbadon, and his legions from Hell.

Abbadon also stalks the lands, and he will not bow his head to Hitler's command. The arch-demon has plans of its own, centred upon the defiant island across the English Channel.

All three parties are destined to meet on the beaches of Dunkirk, where the fate of the world, never mind the war, is to be contested.

"Think 'Saving Private Ryan' meets 'Van Helsing'."

"'Darkest Hour' blends rollicking adventure, the real horror of warfare and the gruesome fantasy horror of your all-time favourite monster movies."

"Ludis - His name means WAR!"

Dominion

A horror/thriller

Spec-Ops soldier, First Sergeant Ellis Kirby leads a JSOC unit into the Tora Ghar cave system in Afghanistan in search of WMDs, but finds something much worse. Infected by an ancient power summoned by an evil cleric Kirby and his companions are whisked back to secret military laboratories in the US. The plague of creatures - known as rakes - that is subsequently unleashed threatens to wipe out the entire population of the United States and perhaps the world.

Kirby wakens in his room to discover that everyone in the lab has been slaughtered, and the monstrous flesh-eating creatures are loose and rampaging throughout the land, killing and propagating their species with abandon.

Through a country rapidly overwhelmed by the ravenous creatures, Kirby aims to return home to his parents’ farm in Iowa, but on his return – following a perilous cross country journey through rake-infested lands - he discovers that they are dead, so chooses instead to take the fight back to the monsters and their master.
Across the same devastated landscape travel Bree and Jill Adams, sisters at odds, who must face their past to survive the future, and three misfits collectively known as the Ruby gang. Each must endure their travails before all of them are thrown together, and then with Kirby, in a race to the eastern seaboard where the final conflict between man and beast is destined to play out in a battle encompassing modern warfare and ancient magic.

Deliver Us from Evil

Under the pen name J A Norton

There is something strange going on in Larchwood, but for Mark, Shax and Amy, things are about to get stranger, and much more frightening.

Skathalos the Ravager has designs on the Earth, intending taking it as his own domain, and bringing it to ruin the way he has the hidden realm he holds under his evil rule. When Shax is snatched by Skathalos it's down to Mark and Amy, and a collie dog called Rip - who is not all he seems to be - to enter the forbidding realm to save their friend and deliver an entire race of beings from evil.

Action, adventure, and terror await the trio along a path fraught with danger and terrible creatures: Scatters, Harpies, Rock Slugs, and an army of walking creatures of dust and clay. But they are nothing compared to the monstrous Firbolg giants, The Wall of Souls, or the terrifying might of Skathalos - a demon deemed too ferocious to remain in Hell. But face them Mark and Amy must, if they are to save Shax, the Tuatha people, and maybe even the entire Earth from the impending End of All Days.
